Boris Johnson bids to jog Joe Biden's memory, says MACER HALL
BORIS Johnson is heading to the US with the trans-Atlantic special relationship in need of urgent repair. The Prime Minister will next week visit the United Nations General Assembly in New York and hold talks with President Joe Biden in an effort to build relations with a White House administration that appears to have forgotten who America's most consistent and reliable ally is.
Even before pulling US forces out of Afghanistan without fully consulting other military partners, the new Democrat commander-in-chief had come to office showing little enthusiasm for working closely with the UK. Preparations for Mr Johnson's arrival in the US have been marked by tortuous negotiations between Westminster and Washington DC.
